4 YouTubers Pre-Med Students Should be Subscribed To

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacramento chapter.

If you are someone who is interested in medicine and wants to work in that field, watching youtube videos may help you stay motivated. Although It’s a difficult field to break into, it’s manageable and we should follow our dreams regardless of the challenges we face. These YouTubers help me stay inspired and motivated to continue. These YouTubers share their pre-med and medical journey so aspiring doctors can understand and get a glimpse of the workload and the field.

Here are a few of my favorite medical YouTubers that I feel other pre-med students should look into:
Doctor Mike

This is a no brainer. Dr. Mike is a family physician and he creates videos about what it’s like to be a doctor, from his medical journey to his morning routine. He also has funny and entertaining videos. One segment on his YouTube channel features Dr. Mike himself reacting to medical tv shows. He reacts to episodes from the tv show and shares to his audience the level of accuracy and his thoughts about them.

America

America is a third-year medical student. She shares her life as a medical student and her day-to-day life. America also posts collaborations with doctors who practice different kinds of specialties. She also does videos about study hacks and her preparation. America’s personality shines through her videos. She is humorous and intelligent. She also shares her medical journey on what’s it like to be a third-year in medical school.

Med School Insiders

This youtube channel is animated. It provides all the information from different specialties in medicine and all the information aspiring premed and medical students might need. The videos are created by Kevin Jubbal. Kevin Jubbal is now a physician entrepreneur. He is the founder of Blue LINC Healthcare Incubator and Med School Insiders. He seeks to empower future generations of physicians, redefine medical education, and improve patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration. People who aren’t pre-med or medical students can also follow this YouTube channel because he gives study hacks and healthy tips for students in general. He also has a vlog channel to share his day-to-day life.

Here is Kevin Jubbal’s Youtube Channel as well if you wish to check out his videos.

MahaDotCom

Maha is a Muslim hijabi YouTuber who creates medical school-related videos. Her videos are on how to plan and study effectively in medical school. She also films daily vlogs. As a Muslim woman, Maha’s video gives me strength and motivation to continue to work hard and inspires me to put effort to reach the same goal as Maha.

All of these YouTubers give me inspiration and motivation to continue towards my ultimate goals. If you are struggling and experiencing self-doubt, check out these YouTubers and hopefully they can give you some effective and helpful tips. Not only are these YouTubers fun to watch but you also get an inside scoop in the medical professions!
