It’s great to live in the dorms, but sometimes it can be challenging on where to get food if your hungry or want some late snacks especially if it’s after hours when The Servery At The Dining Commons and the Courtyard Market are closed. If you are running late to class in the morning and starving, this recipe is perfect to take on the go! It isn’t always a good idea to attend class hungry because you might get hangry, feel irritable and have a lack of focus during an important lecture. To help you stay focused, all you need is: one cup of oat, one tbsp of peanut butter, one cup of water or unsweetened nut and half of a banana or your choice of a favorite fruit! After you gathered all of your ingredients, grab a cute mason jar or mug to mix it altogether to your liking. For more info, watch the recipe video here.

After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Sometimes, I like to be lazy in bed and eat cereal, but I often get bored of having the same kind of cereal in the morning. To mix it up, I grab a microwave safe mug then add a couple of eggs, shredded cheese, and optional veggies with a pinch of salt and pepper for taste. It’s that easy! All it takes is two minutes to cook in the microwave, but be careful because it will be hot. Grab some sriracha for an extra kick in your morning then enjoy! Macaroni and cheese in another recipe you can make in a microwaveable mug. For the ingredients, have half a cup of macaroni pasta, half cup of water, splash of milk, shredded cheese with salt and pepper for taste. After you have your ingredients, pour water and pasta in your safe mug or container then add a pinch of salt. In the microwave, heat the recipe in your mug for two-three minutes then add a splash of milk and cheese for the other 30 seconds. Again, be careful because it will be hot! Use a spoon to mix it well and you got yourself some smackin’ mac and cheese. To check out other 7 Dorm-Friendly Microwave Meals, visit here.

These recipes are great for studying during those late nights or when you are feeling too lazy to step out of your dorm room to get food. On the plus side, these ingredients are also inexpensive to buy at your local farmer’s market! The next time you go grocery shopping, be sure to add these items to your list so you can prepare yourself for those cravings in the middle of the night.
