At the beginning of winter, I created a playlist to help navigate the treacherous months that cause seasonal depression.
Now that we’re closer to warmer weather and days that we can relish during the long summer, I thought I would create a playlist that embodies the feelings and atmosphere surrounding a sunset.
Living near the beach, I spend most of my summers there and watch the sunset as often as I can. Playing music on the beach enhances my time there, and some songs create an indescribable feeling that brings warmth to my soul.
I created this playlist to replicate the warmth I feel in the summer when the sun is setting. Some songs, like Ralph Castelli’s “Morning Sex” and Pretty Boy Aaron’s “Comb My Hair,” have a more soft and slow-paced tempo to exhibit the tranquillity I feel during a sunset. Other songs, like Omar Apollo’s “Tamagotchi” and Outkast’s “Roses,” are more upbeat, but they still carry an aura that exudes warmth.
The right combination of music and a beautiful sunset can make you feel like you’re in a movie. I want you to experience that when you listen to this playlist.
I hope you enjoy this and bask in the sun’s warmth. After several months of cold, gloomy and depressing days, we deserve it.
