Every year when Valentine’s Day inevitably rolls around, single girls everywhere are left with the dilemma of how they will spend their night. Undoubtedly, this year Valentine’s Day is likely to look different for couples and singles everywhere. Since Ontario’s recent stay-at-home order, which currently has been extended until February 19, 2021, this Valentine’s Day won’t be full of packed restaurants, candy-gram exchanges, or couples dressed-to-the-nines.

This year, Valentine’s Day will have to be celebrated a little differently, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t all have fun at home.

The following is a complete list of how to have the best Galentine’s with your girlfriends all week long!

Decorate

A great way to cope with the COVID-19 world we are living in is making it feel just a little brighter and more exciting. This year, I’ve been really trying to decorate my space for every holiday to lift my mood and make the holidays feel a little bit more special. Adding simple red or pink roses to a room can be an easy way to lift your spirits. Heart-shaped banners, sugar cookies, and red, white, and pink balloons are another way to go, depending on your style. However, you choose to decorate your space, make sure it’s pretty, cute, and seasonal.

Treat Yourself

This time of year, there is no better holiday to treat yourself to a night you won’t soon forget. This could mean popping a bottle of Rose with your girlfriends, getting cozy in your PJs, watching all your favourite rom-com’s, or gorging on chocolate. However, you choose to treat yourself, make sure you make this Galentine’s the best yet for you and your girlfriends.

At-Home Spa Day

Who doesn’t love being pampered? Having an at-home spa day is the perfect way to spend some time with your quarantine circle. It’s a great way to relax, enjoy yourself, and spend some much-needed quality time. Light some candles and get into your fuzzy robes, because a spa day Galentine’s is one for the books. Some ideas for how you can get creative this Galentine’s are:

  • Cucumber Slices (to put over your eyelids)

  • Mud Face Masks

  • Exfoliating Peel

  • Foot Soak

  • Sugar Scrub

  • Mani/Pedis!

Zoom Galentine’s Day

We are nearing a year of this pandemic, and by now it feels as if we’ve celebrated every holiday on Zoom. However, we find ourselves still in the thick of the Covid-19 virus in February 2021. So, while we can’t get together in-person just yet, there are a bunch of ways we can make this Zoom Galentine’s fun! First, you can send out E-cards inviting all your friends to your Zoom party. Second, plan games, creative painting projects, or have a movie planned to binge together. Third, bake cookies for yourself, pop some champagne, or incorporate another interest of yours.

Honourable Mention: The Oodie!

The Oodie is the newest craze this season. It is a hybrid between a blanket and a hoodie. It is the comfiest piece of clothing and the perfect complement to your Galentine’s Day in quarantine. This year, all of my girlfriends and I are each picking one up to spend all of Valentine’s Day in! You won’t regret getting an Oodie for yourself, your friends, or your significant other this V-Day.
