Halloween is fast approaching! However, some of us might be feeling discouraged as many seasonal traditions, like costume parties and trick-or-treating, can’t happen this year in light of current world events.
Fortunately, there are so many other ways to get excited. One of my all-time favourites is decorating. Personally, I believe adding a few bold statement pieces can totally transform a room and it takes so little effort.
With the goal of lifting the mood this season and inspiring readers, I’m going to share some fast and simple Halloween-themed decor ideas. Here we go…
- Turn on Some Orange Fairy Lights
-
Fairy lights always make for a nice touch to any room. And they’re perfect this year because we’ve all been spending a little more time than usual watching Netflix indoors.
To add a Halloween-inspired twist, try using some orange lights instead of traditional ones.
- Paint a Pumpkin
-
I always thought that carving pumpkins was too messy, so I was beyond excited when I thought about what it would be like to paint a pumpkin instead this year.
If you don’t have any paint on hand, then you can also consider drawing on your pumpkin with a permanent marker.
This idea is so unconventional that it’s practically unheard of. It will definitely catch a visitor’s attention!
- Get Some (Fake) Skeletons
-
If you would rather stay classy and traditional this year, putting some fake skeletons around your room is an easy way for you to start decorating.
On top of being easy, this idea can also be very cheap. I’ve seen many similar designs at dollar stores and large department stores as well.
- Put Up a Fall Wreath
-
Just like many other suggestions I’ve mentioned, this decorative element is also great because it practically takes no work at all, but still looks stunning.
By putting a wreath like this on your front door or in your room, you will automatically establish Halloween vibes.
- Light Scented Candles
-
I know this idea sounds basic, but it’s a must-have. Pick your favourite Halloween or fall scents, place them around your room, and light them up.
The scents around your home will mentally remind you what time of year it is, and they also make for a pretty scene as soon as you dim the lights.
- Get Some Snacks Out
-
Let’s not forget that food can serve as decoration too! You can bake one of your favourite recipes and decorate it to fit the occasion, or you can just put out some classic Halloween candies in a bowl.
Whatever you choose, you will definitely feel more at home and ready for the season with something you can indulge in at your disposal.
