Hungry and looking for something to eat? Snack on something that tastes good and will lower your stress level!

  • Berries

Blueberries have some of the highest levels of an antioxidant called anthocyanin. They also have been linked to positive outcomes, including sharper cognition. Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, are all rich in vitamin C, which has been shown to be helpful in combating stress.

  • Leafy Greens

Dark leafy greens such as spinach are rich in folate, which help regulate serotonin and dopamine (neurotransmiters which help regulate joy, love, reward, motivation, mood, and memory). A study conducted at the University of Otago observed that young adults who ate fruits and vegetables helped them clam their nerves.

  • Dark Chocolate

Who doesn’t love chocolate? We all want an excuse to eat it. Consuming small amounts of dark chocolate has been linked to the brain’s release of anandamide (neurotransmitter produced in the brain that blocks feelings of pain and depression).

  • Get some Sunshine

I know, I know, it doesn’t count as a food. But it’s essential that you take time out of your stressful study schedule to walk outside and get a daily dose of sunshine. Not only do you get fresh air but it’ll help stabilize your mood.
