1. Document your thoughts and favourite moments.

Whether it’s keeping track of your days by writing in a journal, taking celebratory photos or filming your experiences, recording personal memories is valuable for when you want to look back on all of your crazy moments of 2019. Over time, you may also come to see how you progress and change with time. It’s always important to review and reflect on the life-changing moments that happen to you, both the good and the bad.

2. Try something new and outrageous.

It’s not enough to say you’re interested in accomplishing something if you’re not going to take some real action. This year, why not try to plan some new and exciting activities with your friends or family? Take some time to brainstorm a list of fun things you can do together or places you’d like to travel to. They could even be something as simple as eating at a new restaurant that you’ve always wanted to try. Planning exciting arrangements in this way will hold everyone accountable, plus you’ll have an array of interesting activities to look forward to throughout the year. Who knows, you may actually be pleasantly surprised with the final outcome!

3. Take care of yourself.

If you haven’t been putting in enough time this past year to take care of yourself, start now. You’ve heard it many times, but your mental and physical health are critical to your overall state of wellbeing. Make sure to be sleeping enough hours, eating nutritious meals, and staying active in your everyday life. Prioritize your health and maintain a progressive outlook. Aim to live a balanced lifestyle; make sure to take time to unwind from your school, job, and extracurriculars.

4. Cherish those closest to you.

When it comes to your immediate support system, it’s important to recognize that these are the networks of people who love you and will be there for you no matter the circumstance. Be mindful by showing your gratitude and making time for these significant individuals, since it will always go a long way and is never unappreciated. Be present and accommodating towards the incredible people you have in your close circle of friends and family. Never be afraid of seeking the proper help or support that you need!

5. Challenge your mind and never stop learning.

A good way to flourish in 2019 is to seek some discomfort and challenge yourself. Realistically, you can’t expect to grow by staying in your comfort zone. Find value in pushing your boundaries in order to learn new skill sets and face different ways of thinking. After all, it may be the extra step towards accomplishing your goals.

6. Stay motivated; be consistent with your actions to develop good habits.

You have to first take initiative to develop productive habits. Ultimately, you need to take responsibility for your own life. Partake in constructive tasks that help to inspire you and give you a sense of purpose. Choose determination. Stay consistent and purposeful with your actions and aim to work hard. Your efforts will be entirely worth it in the end!

7. Trust yourself and have fun!

Just be you. Tackle this year head-on. Get out there and make 2019 memorable!
