Kacey Musgraves is Finally Getting the Attention She Deserves

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Providence chapter.

Kacey Musgraves took home 4 Grammy Awards last week and all I have to say is- finally.

The country singer grew up in Texas and moves to Nashville in 2008 to pursue her dreams of making it big in the music industry. As a great things take time, Musgraves worked hard in her early time there. Her debut single, “Merry go ‘Round”, was released in 2012. What many people don’t know is that Musgraces won her first two Grammys in 2014 at age 25.

Growing as an artist, she adopted a more whimsical style, bringing us to her 2018 album: “Golden Hour.” If you haven’t listened to this album yet, stop what you are doing immediately and go listen. It is a blend of country, disco and pop and its INCREDIBLE. The lyrics matched with a beautiful mixture of drums, banjos, guitars make a great sounds with only positive vibes.

The best part about Musgraves is that she sounds just as good, if not better, life. Her voice is incredibly light and moving, something that I believe is rare these days.

Here are my favorite songs right now:
