Her Campus is all about creating partnerships that empower women, and one way they facilitate that is through partnerships with other local chapters. This semester, our sister chapter is Her Campus at Phila U, and we’re introducing their CC’s with these profiles!

  1. Introduce yourself in two sentences! (Include at least name, major, hometown/state)

C: I’m Christiana and a senior in the fashion design program at PhilaU! I’m originally from South Jersey, but have been living in Philly for the past few years and I absolutely love it.

  1. What made you decide you wanted to get involved at Her Campus

C: I had actually been involved in another writing organization on campus that started going through some shaky transitions after my freshman year. I was poking around involvement fair sophomore year, and met two seniors who were advertising this brand new club on campus called Her Campus and talked me into signing up! I went to the first interest meeting the next week and the rest is history!

A: I heard about the group and I was so excited that my school had a group focusing on female empowerment, especially in writing. I’ve always been passionate and interested in writing so I was so happy to continue doing it in college, now with a supportive group of girls to grow and bond with. In just my freshman year, I was promoted to blog editor, and then to Co-CC with Christiana. It’s been such a great opportunity.

  1. How long have you been a CC?

We’ve both been a CC for the past year.

  1. What’s your favorite thing that you’ve done or accomplished as a CC

C: We had a fantastic framework to work with at Her Campus, thanks to our founders, but there’s always room for improvement! Within the first month of being CC, I was able to establish a two-week production schedule for our content that has made it MUCH easier to produce content regularly and on time, and even go above content requirements from time to time!

  1. What types of things do you like to do in your free time?

C: I’m a big foodie, and a bit of a shopaholic… For better or worse, Philly is one of the best places for both of those activities, and I take full advantage of it in my free time!

  1. Favorite local hangout?

C: I definitely haven’t gotten into Center City as much as I should given my proximity, but Manayunk has some great spots (like Couch Tomato) and I love The Hungry Pigeon  on South Street in Philly.

A: I love to hang out at a local coffee shop in Manayunk called Volo Coffeehouse. It’s perfect to get homework done or to catch up with a friend.

  1. Wawa or Sheetz? Why?

C: Wawa, duh, What even is Sheetz anyway?? But seriously, Wawa’s chocolate banana smoothies are the highlight of all my gas trips!

  1. What do you want to accomplish in the next five years?

C: I definitely hope to establish a career with room for growth. Whether that’s with a company that I really love, or maybe even on my own, I’m not sure, but that’s the exciting part! I also want to have visited at least 3 new countries within the next five years… here’s to hoping!

  1. What is something you hope to do this year?

C: Send my parents on a mini vacation. They work so hard and have been so supportive of me, I’d love to give them a little something back and treat them to a break!

  1. What did you do over Spring Break?

C: I actually had a fantastic opportunity to do an alternative spring break in Athens Greece, where I worked on bag designs with a non-profit organization called Threads of Hope.

  1. What do you do over the summer?

C: Typically I just work or intern over the summer – I haven’t been on a summer vacation in a while… I’m hoping to maybe slip in some beach trips and maybe a road trip at some point this summer though!

  1. What are you looking forward to the most this year?

C: Graduation! It’s terrifying in many ways, but it’s also exciting, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
