Campus Cutie: Kim Tran

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OR State chapter.

Name: Kim Tran

Hometown: San Jose, CA

Major/Minor: Pre-Pharmacy, Minoring in Business & Entrepreneurship

Year: Sophomore

Relationship Status: Single

This week’s Campus Cutie is Kim Tran! Read on to learn more about her and everything she’s involved in:

HC at Oregon State: Why did you choose this major?

Kim: I’ve always thought chemistry and medicine was super rad! But a really big passion of mine is skateboarding, and I figured the business minor would make it a bit easier for me to open up a skate shop in the future.

HC at Oregon State: Are you involved in any way at OSU? If yes, how so?

Kim: Somehow I got tricked into managing the Bing’s at Weatherford Instagram account with another coworker a couple weeks ago, and hopefully I’ll be an officer for the Pre-Pharmacy Society next year.

HC at Oregon State: What is your best college memory?

Kim: One time when I was living in the dorms, my friend and I sat in the fire escape and jammed out with my guitar. We got in trouble with the RA’s but it was a ton of fun.

HC at Oregon State: Is there anything that you would like to do before you graduate?

Kim: My band and I definitely need to follow the Vans Warped Tour one summer and perform shows in the parking lot while people wait in line.

HC at Oregon State: Do you have any college regrets?

Kim: I regret nothing, man.

HC at Oregon State: What would be your ideal date?

Kim: I always see super cute carnival dates on TV. Coming from a big city, I don’t even know if carnivals actually exist.

HC at Oregon State: Do you have any hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?

Kim: Skateboarding, playing guitar, and recently I’ve started destroying disposable cameras to get the perfect light leaks and exposures. I’ve done everything from throwing them on the ground, putting them in the freezer, rinsing them with water, rubbing the lens with steel woll, and poking holes into them. It’s a ton of fun, and because you can’t see the photos immediately it’s always a surprise!

HC at Oregon State: Any celebrity crushes?

Kim: Have you seen Austin Butler’s jawline?

HC at Oregon State: Do you have any pet peeves?

Kim: People who stir their Caramel Macchiatos.

HC at Oregon State: Favorite Movie?

Kim: Do documentaries count? I recently watched the Bones Brigade documentary and I’m obsessed! But Legally Blonde is pretty good, too.

HC at Oregon State: What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

Kim: Hopefully running a pediatric pharmacy and co-owning a skate & surf shop.

Say “hello” to Kim if you see her on campus, and stay tuned for yet another swoonworthy Campus Cutie!

Katherine Borchers is a Junior at Oregon State University and is majoring in Digital Communication Arts. She is involved on campus with Res Life and So Worth Loving at Oregon State. You can find her procrastinating real life responsibilities, drinking coffee, and procrastinating some more. When she procrastinates, she loves to sing loudly (not well, either), read books, and do artsy-fartsy stuff.
