Spindrift: The Newest Sparkling Water Craze

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New School chapter.

We’ve all been there. You’ve just finished an entire family sized bag of chips, and you are parched.

Of course, nothing fits better with a salty snack like a nice, refreshing carbonated, artificially dyed soda, but spring break is coming up, and I’m trying to have clear skin and body positivity.  So, naturally, sparkling water is the perfect fix for this problem. That’s the thing about sparkling water, you have your first can, and then you never stop. You get all of the benefits of drinking a cola, without any of the guilt or bad chemicals. Because I’ve deemed myself as a sparkling water connoisseur, I thought it would be selfish if I didn’t write about the newest sparkling water phenomenon; Spindrift.

Spindrift, now available at Starbucks, is the first sparkling water flavored with only real squeezed fruit (I think that means Spindrift can be my new substitute for fruits and veggies in my food chart). Spindrift, founded in 2010, is a real company with real products. Their fruit is picked from family farms and squeezed into their delicious cans a few days after harvest. I don’t know much about the agriculture industry, but I know I like my products fresh. Flavors include Strawberry, Orange-Mango, Grapefruit, Blackberry, Cucumber, Lemon, and Raspberry-Lime, so that you can taste every season in a purchase. Spindrift is available at various grocery retailers and café-style restaurants nationwide, including Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, Kroger, Target, and online at Amazon and www.shop.spindriftfresh.com.

Not only does Spindrift offer a varying selection of flavors, but their packaging is marvelous. Need a pop of color for your all black, 5-minutes-late-to-class outfit? Grab a Spindrift from your pantry or fridge (It’s 2018, drink your sparkling water cold please) and boom, you’re ready.

Spindrift’s philosophy and mission statement also are what drew me to the product. Spindrift donates 1% of their net sales to non-profit companies through their membership with for 1% For The Planet. So why are you still reading this? Put down your screen, run to your nearest Spindrift distributor, and taste it for yourself.
