The New School’s Parsons School of Design produces some of the best, young fashion designers in the world, so here is a look at some of their best work at Parsons.
Alex Yarally, Fashion Design at Parsons
Yarally is a student at Parsons studying fashion design.” His upbringing had a major impact on him pursuing the garment industry..
“I think the influence of my grandmother might be the initial reasonings for appreciating clothing. She was always sewing and and creating things we couldn’t afford growing up,” he said.
On Sep. 14, Yarally took home The Costume Institute Fashion Design Award at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he represented Parsons with his “Heavenly Bodies” dress. Yarally takes authenticity very seriously and mentioned that, “I don’t relate to many contemporary designers, there’s a lot of people who are just knocking each other off, so individuality is scarce.”
