It’s no secret that the podcast world is currently exploding, but getting into it may feel a little intimidating. With so many topics to choose from, ranging anywhere from spirituality to economic theory, you may not know where to begin. Although browsing the top charts on iTunes is always a great starting point, so are the five choices listed below. This diverse and engaging content will provide you with insights and perspectives you may have never thought of. So sit back, plug your headphones in, relax, and seep in all of this newfound knowledge.

“2 Dope Queens”

If you’re looking for comedy, there’s absolutely no better time than listening to Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams of “2 Dope Queens.” Although these ladies are incomparably hilarious, they get real to discuss race and sexism, amongst other issues, through completely candid conversations. Want to know the best part? They do live shows all over the country! Check out WNYC’s website for their upcoming live performances and info on all past podcasts.

“From the Heart: Conversations with Yoga Girl”

Rachel Brathen is the leading lady behind Instagram’s biggest yoga platform, Yoga Girl. Her account has more than two million followers, and her brand new podcast is a must for anyone who has an interest in mindfulness, meditation, health, or spirituality. With only two episodes out, you’re in a great place to catch up on her content and be ready for weekly podcasts airing on Friday mornings from here on out.

“Ladies Who Lunch”

YouTube sensations Ingrid Nilsen and Cat Valdes engage in intellectual, political, and controversial topics which they claim are “often left out of polite conversation,” in their engaging show. With more than 50 episodes, there’s no wrong place to start when it comes to listening to the insights of these two bada** women. Having so many episodes to choose from, I especially recommend “Birth Control Choices” and “Seeking Social Acceptance” – two extremely moving conversations that definitely helped me sort a few things out.

“Guys We F****d”

For an unapologetic, anti-slut-shaming, and totally empowering comedic conversation between Krystyna Huchinson and Corinne Fisher, “Guys We F****d” is THE podcast for you. These incredibly eloquent ladies know how to tell it like it is, which is why it’s no surprise that they have one of the top rated shows on iTunes. This is another one with tons of options (176 to be exact), giving you more than enough listening material to turn on while doing your spring cleaning.

“The Bernie Sanders Show”

Every political gal will find her niche in the incredible interviews between Senator Bernie Sanders and the myriad of guests he hosts on “The Bernie Sanders Show.” No matter what your political view, I think it’s safe to say that listening to an informed opinion is always enriching, and as such, you’re bound to learn a thing or two from the unique dialogue hosted by this one-of-a-kind politician. This is another new podcast, with only three episodes live, meaning that you have a lot to look forward to from the Senator.
