Why Everyone Should Join Poshmark

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Although it has been increasing in popularity recently, many people still have not heard of Poshmark, which is a digital marketplace that allows users to buy and sell both used and boutique clothing. This app makes it extremely easy to list and sell name brand clothing that has been sitting in the closet unworn for months. It’s perfect for those Lilly Pulitzer shorts or that Coach purse that you never use or wear, but aren’t quite ready to give to Goodwill. Creating a listing is so simple which is why everyone should join.

These following steps describe how to post and sell items on Poshmark: Photograph the item you’re trying to sell (you want to make it look as professional as possible to attract buyers). For example, if you’re selling a pair of boyfriend jeans, they will attract more attention if paired with a cute pair of chunky heels and a striped sweater. After uploading the photos, the seller enters the size, brand, color and original listing price of the item and then decides what they want to sell it for. Users typically list products for 50-70% below their original price due to the fact that the products are used and most likely no longer new styles. For this reason, everyone should not only sell on Poshmark, but also buy because who wouldn’t want $100 Lululemon leggings for just $15?

While some products for sale are more heavily used than others, the vast majority of items are not worn-down or obviously used. I’ve been using Poshmark for a little over a year now and I have made almost $2,000 by selling my clothes. People on the site take their buying and selling very seriously so it’s a wonderful social media platform for anyone interested in purchasing name brands for significantly cheaper than normal or who are trying to make some money on the clothes they no longer wear. Now that you’re done reading, go check out Poshmark!
