Five November Bucket List Activities in NYC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

The month that makes you want to throw on a fuzzy jacket and cozy up next to a loved one is here. What better way to embrace autumn than by taking a trip to The Big Apple in November? From eating the best food in the coziest places to ice skating in Central Park, New York City has activities that will guarantee you to have a delightful visit.

  1. Take a walk in Bryant Park and pick up a Raclette at the Baked Cheese Haus Kiosk. Located between 40th and 42nd Streets in Midtown Manhattan. The most satisfying thing you will ever see is melted cheese being scraped from a huge cheese wheel onto a warm and crispy baguette sandwich. These Swiss style sandwiches called Raclette can be found at the Baked Cheese Haus kiosk in Bryant Park during the holiday months. After grabbing these warm sandwiches, why not take a nice stroll through the park to view some fall foliage?

  2. Embrace the Southern comfort style at Jacob’s Pickles. 509 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10024. With buttermilk fried chicken, biscuits and cheesy grits that are fireworks in your mouth, Jacob’s Pickles is the perfect spot to go if you’re looking for southern comfort food with a fun and cozy vibe. It is a high-energy place with modern pop music and employees who are friendly and passionate about the restaurant. Not to mention, you will most definitely have leftovers which is always a plus.

  3. Go ice Skating in Central Park. 830 5th Ave, New York, NY 10065. Grab your ice skates and head over to Wollman Rink in Central Park for some ice skating. Surrounded by beautiful trees and skyscrapers, you are guaranteed to have a great time. Feeling chilly? Take a break and grab a snack and some hot cocoa at the snack bar.

  4. Stop into Jacques Torres for a warm chocolate chip cookie and hot chocolate. Between Park and Lexington, 110 E 57th St, New York, NY 10022, 350 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014. You may have missed the episode in Gossip Girl which mentions the famous chocolate shop Jacques Torres, known for their artisan chocolate, cookies and to-die-for hot chocolate. When the New York City wind is too cold to bear, stop into this warm and cozy shop for some delectable chocolate goods.

  5. Cheer for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001. The Knicks may not have the best basketball record, but if you are looking for something fun and energizing to do indoors, this is the perfect activity for you. With tickets as low as $60, you can throw a blue shirt on and go cheer for one of New York’s beloved teams.  All images credit to their original owners.
