31 Nights of Halloween Must-See Movies on Freeform

During the entire month of October, Freeform has 31 Nights of Halloween. This consists of various Halloween movies playing all day from the beginning of October all the way until Halloween. Most of the movies are classics that we know and love from our childhood, while others have been released a little over a couple years ago. Below are the must see movies you do not want to miss this Halloween on Freeform!

 

  1. Hocus Pocus

 

This movie is being played almost everyday on Freeform. Don’t miss it! Max, our protagonist, explores an abandoned house with his little sister, Danny, and his new friend, Allison. What happens when an ancient candle is lit? Watch and find out.

 

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloweentown, has grown tired of scaring people. Instead, he becomes fascinated with Christmas when he discovers Christmas Town. Will Jack be successful in bringing Christmas to his beloved Halloweentown, or will he backfire?

3. Monster House

On Halloween, three youths, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny, ban together to find out the mystery behind the haunted house across the street from DJ. when secrets unfold, it is up to the three youths to destroy the house before it terrorizes innocent trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.

 

4. The Addams Family

The movie focuses on the strange, aristocratic adventures of the Addams family as they encounter a man believing to be the long-lost brother of Gomez Addams. With skepticism on the rise, will the family be happily reunited, or was the arrival just a hoax for money?

5. The Haunted Mansion

When real estate agent Jim decides to take his wife and two kids on a vacation, things do not go as planned. Along the way, the family encounters an old, creepy mansion with ghosts that inhabit it, and can’t let go of the past. Will Jim find out the truth in time to save his family?

 

 6. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory 

 

Charlie, a poor boy, and five other children win the trip of a lifetime by visiting Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. However, things turn dark when the children and their parents start disappearing as soon as they visit a new part of the factory. Not only is this scary, but so are the way the Oompa Loompas look. Who will be the only child left to win the ultimate prize at the end of the trip?

 

7. Maleficent

In this retelling of the classic Disney tale of Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent focuses on the origins of the villain. Maleficent was pure and good until a betrayal turned her evil and caused her to become the sole protector of her lands. She curses the king’s daughter, Aurora, for revenge, but realizes that Aurora might be all that Maleficent needs to ensure peace in her land. Will Maleficent live to see peace restored to her land?

 

8. Alice in Wonderland

Alice, now a teenager, has no recollection of visiting Wonderland when she was a child. Alice soon tumbles down the rabbit hole while chasing the white rabbit, and arrives in Wonderland. Alice, now reunited with her friends, like the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat, must stop the Red Queen’s rule over the land. Will Alice and her friends put an end to the Red Queen’s reign of terror?

 

9. Hotel Transylvania

Since the third movie came out this year, watching the first one will give you a good throwback of 2012. Count Dracula’s castle is not only his permanent home, but it is also a hotel for monsters who want to get away from humans. On Mavis’ 118th birthday, Count Dracula’s daughter, all the monsters arrive. However, the party is crashed when a human comes to the castle and takes an interest in Mavis. Are tensions between humans and monsters solved once and for all?

10. Mrs. Doubtfire

 

Robin Williams takes on the role of Daniel Hiller, a divorced man who wants to improve his parenting. To do so, he takes on the role of Mrs. Doubtfire, a nanny, who is hired by Hiller’s ex wife. The children take a liking to Mrs. Doubtfire, but Hiller’s worlds and personalities begin to collide. Will Hiller keep his secret long enough to get closer to his family?

11. Monsters Inc.

Mike and Sully are monsters who work at Monsters Incorporated, which is a scare factory that survives on the screams of children. However, things change when the monsters encounter a little girl named Boo who makes them realize that humans are not so bad. Will Mike and Sully return Boo back to where she belongs before there is chaos in the factory?

12. Monsters University

Monsters University is the place to go if you want to be a Scarer. There, Mike meets Sully, and they become rivals, and get into deep trouble that gets them kicked out of the scare program at the University. Will Mike and Sully work together to get what they want in the end?
