If you heard about the Fyre Festival fiasco, I bet you’re feeling really lucky right now that you decided to invest your money in America’s favorite two-weekend music festival instead. Coachella may have come and gone but the amazing performances still very much resonate today. But the most important trend that I saw out of Coachella exceeded beyond my dreams and expectations; here I thought glitter and sparkles would be the overall theme of the festival but it turns out that it was seen on every single celebrity, influencer, and model! This year, the rainbow hue of sparkles graced many’s choices of body decoration, aligned with jewels and gems that were articulately placed on the upper body to display detailed designs.

To top it off, pops of colorful eyeliner looks played a major role in this season’s festival looks. With brands like NYX Cosmetics, beauty lovers were able to create symmetrical and contrasting designs. Another common theme that I saw catered to the minimal girls and guys who preferred not to have donned themselves with a glitter shower. Keeping it low-key with a hint of bright tones, festival-goers decorated their eye looks with hands-free work of art. I also noticed the super spring-inspired look of a strong color blown out on the eyelids like brick red, with a curved thing line of baby blue in the crease area. Another technique that I saw were the simple placements of single gems or colorful dots underneath the eyes that not only gave subtle attention but also emphasized the eyes. A personal favorite of mine is the pop of shiny single line drawn vertically on the bottom lip that really enhanced the lip appearances. Some even went as far as clipping their bottom lip with body jewelry!

Top knot buns and half-up, half down hair looks were the name of the game this season for Coachella. With strong resemblances to a popular hairstyle done by many beauty bloggers such as Carli Bybel, I think we’re going to be seeing more and more of this look. Aside from cute hair braids and clever updos, this year hair game was definitely not as strong as the makeup that I’ve seen. The majority of the beautiful people attending Coachella flaunted their natural hairstyle in a messy beach wave. Plus, I am personally obsessed with some of the body art that came out of this year’s Coachella. Available as temporary tattoos, many beauty figures donned silver and gold designs on their chests, arms and hands during the festival. Many of which feature beautiful artworks of detailed lace or elephants, I saw this amazing idea on the likes of Bretman Rock, Instagram’s favorite beauty comedian.

Although I significantly saw more celebrities in the first week of Coachella as opposed to the second week, many festival goers commented how more ‘regular’ people did actually attend the latter. Nevertheless, the festival yet again, display an immense colorful palette of styles and ideas that I’m sure we’ll see more to come during this summer.
