7 Stand Out Trends from Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring ’17 Show

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LIM chapter.

Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2017 show kicked off fashion week from the west coast on February, 8th. The show, which took place in Venice Beach, California, dubbed TOMMYLAND, played off his interactive Fall ’16 show TOMMYPIER.  The designer collaborated with model Gigi Hadid for the second season of #TommyxGigi, combining east coast and west coast style into the collection. As part of the “see-now-buy-now” method many designers are adopting, the pieces became available online as soon as they hit the runway. The brand’s Spring ’17 collection has a 70’s streetstyle vibe, and is all about transforming old classics into pieces made for the new world and bringing together the aesthetic of fashion, art, music and culture. Keep reading for the stand out trends from Tommy Hilfiger this season.

1) Sleek Leather

Talk about a show stopping opening look! The collection also features leather in different colors and pieces including pants, skirts and jackets.

2) Denim Jackets

From trenches to bombers denim is a standout trend this season. Add a cute patch work in a little sassiness to your style.

3) Pretty Patchwork

This is the dress of dreams for every bohemian babe’s closet. Feminine and soft, this silk print dress feels just as good as it looks.

4) Vertical Stripes

As if this model’s legs need to look any longer! Vertical stripes are going to be HUGE this season and will help lengthen any silhouette

5) Star Spangled Prints

Red, white and stars all over, this patriotic print appeared in a few looks and turned heads down the runway.

6) Pastel Palette

Pastels are back for Spring! Light pinks and baby blues were a prominent color palette on the runway.

7) Cool Colorblock

This mod pattern was a standout design featured in many pieces including a crop top, skirt and dresses.
