Hey everyone! The newest addition to the Pokémon game conglomerate, Pokémon Sword and Shield, came out earlier this week for the Nintendo Switch. With this being the newest game in the Pokémon universe, there are plenty of cool new Pokémon and features to point out!

Sword and Shield dropped on November 14th, and the game was an immediate hit. With viewers being able to experience the same Pokémon from their childhood in a new and different adventure, the game sparks joy just as the original games did for players in the past. The new story focuses on Galar, an England-esque world, allowing the trainer to head out and battle to become the greatest Pokémon trainer within the region.

With this new game comes new starter Pokémon! At the beginning of the game, the player gets to choose between three different starter Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Grookey is a Grass-type Pokémon, Scorbunny is a Fire-type Pokémon, and Sobble is a water-type. This game also introduces more Pokémon into the regions, with my personal favorite being a Wooloo (a cute sheep-like Pokémon)!

Another cool element added into this game is how the developers allow users to catch Pokémon. With this design, users get to see Pokémon roam around and can pick and choose which ones to battle or capture! This gives players more freedom to decide which Pokémon to capture and helps users get more freedom when building their team.

While I have never been the biggest fan of Pokémon, this game has certainly intrigued me and made me want to play! My boyfriend, however, is a Pokémon fanatic and absolutely loves the overall design and feel of the game (he can hardly put it down)! Have fun battling throughout the game, and go catch ‘em all!
