What Her Campus KCL is All About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KCL chapter.

The number one question we were asked at the Freshers Fair over the weekend (and hi if we saw you there!) was ‘what is Her Campus all about?’. So we thought we’d give you a little introduction to our society as it enters its first year as an official part of King’s life.

Her Campus is a media company based in America and created for women at university. They have more than 270 chapters and colleges across eleven countries, and Her Campus KCL is one of those chapters! It’s our job to produce content every week that interests women at King’s, everything from entertainment reviews to current events or news. Chapters also write profiles on wonderful people at their university to share news of their greatness to the many. Our content is diverse as our student body, and we embrace the idea of showcasing as many different voices as possible.

As a Her Campus chapter we strive to make life just that little bit better for women at King’s. From giving them the opportunity to write content and have it published, to giving them content to read, to organising events for our society members, we want to be a force of good for you all. Hopefully you’ll see us around campus this year and if you do see that Her Campus pink, be sure to say hi!

Writing for Her Campus has led a lot of great women to positions with major companies, and we hope it will do the same for some of our members if they are interested in careers in journalism. And even if you’re not, we hope you get a wonderful experience out of our society, and enjoy the freedom and individuality we encourage in our writers.

If you’re interested in writing for us, email us at kcl@hercampus.com. If you just want to read, check us out on social media! We’re @HerCampusKCL on Instagram and Twitter and we’ll be organising giveaways later in the year!

Here’s to the year ahead, we hope you join us for the journey.
