Single Girl’s Guide to Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

Spending Valentine’s Day alone doesn’t have to equal crying over a pint of Ben and Jerry’s while watching rom-coms. Here’s my certified Single Girl’s Guide to Valentine’s Day.

1. TREAT. YO. SELF- face masks, body scrubs, scented lotion. Whatever makes you feel good and relaxed is totally appropriate for this first step.

2. Who says chocolates have to be given away? Buy yourself a nice candy bar or box of cheesy valentine’s candy- you deserve it.

3. If you have a kitchen, invite your other single pals over and make dinner together. Blast some Beyoncé and have fun in the cooking for each other!

4. If you are like me and are kitchen-less, order Grubhub or Postmates from your favorite restaurant. Nothing to make you feel good like your favorite meal, and the best part is you can eat it in your PJs.

5. Remember that Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a day to spread “romantic love”, but for love in general. Call your parents, your friends, your neighbors, your dogs and tell them you love and appreciate them. It will make their day and help you focus on what really matters.
