All The Shows I Watched Over Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.
“Unbelievable”

This eight episode miniseries on Netflix is about a teenage girl being raped, then recanting her statement due to pressure from the police. After this, two female police officers investigate a series of rapes in other districts and realize they are all connected due to similar circumstances. This show is based on a true story and I highly recommend watching it.

“Don’t F**k With Cats”

This documentary is also based on a true story. There are only three episodes to this twisted series and it was very interesting. It is about a psychopathic man who kills cats on the internet for fun. A group of people on Facebook try to investigate who this sick man is… until it’s too late.

“The Circle”

Usually, I avoid reality TV shows at all costs… but this show seemed unlike any other. This twelve episode series on Netflix was pretty addicting. In The Circle, the participants don’t talk to each other in person- they text. Ten participants live in apartments and are stuck in their rooms all day and night. They can either play as themselves or catfish everyone else. The main goal is to be the last influencer left by doing anything they possibly can.

“Who the Bleep Did I Marry?”

Investigative crime shows are where it’s at! This show on Hulu documents real stories of men and women who seemingly lived happy and normal lives with their partners whom they thought they knew. When a clue causes them to dig further into their lives, the shocking truths lead them to finding out who their spouse really is. Some of the episodes include husbands with multiple families, spies working under cover, spouses who steal thousands of dollars, ruin other peoples lives and even murder other people.

“The Outsider”

This show on HBO is based off Stephen King’s novel The Outsider. It begins by following an investigation of the gruesome murder of a young boy and takes a turn when an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case. It leads the investigators to question everything they believe in. There are only three episodes so far, but it is super interesting and I look forward to every Sunday night at 9 pm.

“Sex Education Season 2”

Last but not least, Sex Education is about a socially awkward teen boy named Otis and a super smart bad girl named Maeve who start a bussiness in school of selling sex advice to their classmates in an abandoned bathroom. Otis’ mother is a sex therapist which is where he gets all of his sexual knowledge despite having little to no sexual experience. This show follows around a few teens in high school and all of their problems.
