Homemade Valentine’s Day Gifts Your Significant Other Will Adore

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

It’s 2018, we’re all about saving money. Valentine’s Day is coming up and if you are in a relationship (or there’s that special someone that you have a crush on) I am sure you are wondering what to get them. There is no need to let this day stress you out. Here a few ideas of gifts that you can make at home without breaking the bank. Remember, it is the thought that counts!

1. Personalized Mug—All you need for this lovely gift is a plain, white mug and permanent markers. Write a message on the cup, or you and your lover’s name, and then bake the mug at 350 degrees for at least 30 minutes.

2. Candy Bag—hand make a bag and put your loved ones favorite candy inside of it. **These are also great party favors for anyone attending a Valentine’s Day party**

3. Framed Picture—Of course a picture is special, but it means just a little bit more when it becomes tangible.

4. Customizable Love Coupons—Sometimes couples need to take some time for each other. Create coupons such as, “Date night,” or “1 Free Massage,” or “Game night.” Get creative and have fun with this!

5. Mason Jar Crafts—Decorate Valentine’s Day mason jars. They are great candle holders!

6. Love Letters—Get an old cardboard box and decorate it. Fill it up with letters for your significant other, or, to spice things up, randomly stash love letters in the box from time to time.

No matter what you choose to do for your significant other on Valentine’s Day, remember the importance of appreciating them every day. Don’t wait for one particular day out of the year to show them just how much they mean to you.
