Beyoncé isn’t called Queen Bey for nothing. Not only does she have almost 40 awards to her name from an array of presenters. However, she has many other accomplishments that aren’t as publicized. Beyoncé is queen of a genre of music in which women are not always treated the same as men. Beyoncé’s feminism includes being a wife, a mother, a businesswoman, and a superstar in heels making empowering music. Below is a timeline displaying a few of her accomplishments:

2006 – Beyoncé forms a 10 piece, all female band called The Suga Mamas. The band includes women of all races, shapes, sizes, and ages. She felt as if women weren’t given as many opportunities to thrive in areas like music so she did something proactive about it.

2009 – Beyoncé donated $4 million to Phoenix House, which is a non-profit organization for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

2010 – Phoenix House opened The Beyoncé Cosmetology Center in Brooklyn, New York. This center provides a seventh-month cosmetology program for men and women. Beyoncé donates $100,000 a year to this center.

2013 – Beyoncé co-founded the Chime for Change with Salma Hayek Pinault and Frida Giannini, the creative director of Gucci. Beyoncé also donated half a million dollars out of pocket. This program is dedicated to educating women, providing better resources for good physical and mental health, and justice for women who are survivors of sexual and physical abuse, and sex trafficking. They also provide these resources for women and girls who can’t afford the education and also to young moms.

2013 – Chime for Change puts on a concert headlined by Beyoncé that raised almost $4 million to support over 200 projects to help women and girls all over the world.

2014 – Beyoncé donated half a million dollars of her own money to Chime for Change.

We can also talk about how she’s given over $7 million to help build a housing complex is Houston for homeless people. She also has donated to the Women’s Fund for Scotland charity which helps women who are facing challenges including disabilities, domestic abuse, being a single parent, etc. Finally, Beyoncé is the CEO of her own company, a company that employs almost all women, including the Vice President.

Like I said, feminism is no competition and any effort to educate and help the world is notable, but it seems as if Beyoncé is making an incredible effort. These aren’t all of Beyoncé’s accomplishments, just a brief list to show the world just how much of a queen our Queen Bey truly is.
