This pandemic has been the hardest thing I have had to overcome mentally so far. I know a lot of my peers feel the same way and I know as well that here are some things you need to do after finals week. These will allow you to refresh yourself and help get you back on a good track. The stress of finals on top of the pandemic is so detrimental to mental health and here are some ways to recover from it:

Sleep In

Class every day, work on the off days, social life, school life, extracurricular life. It all piles up and causes so much stress especially now we are isolated inside. So take a day off and stay in your comfy pants. You deserve it!

Call

Call your mom, dad, friends, grandma, grandpa, uncle, sister, brother, neighbor, boss. Anyone that can make you feel better socially, call. Being isolated has left our social lives to die. This needs to be repaired so we can go back to normal eventually. Don’t just call for that though. Call you you don’t feel as lonely. They miss you too!

Binge-Watch

Watch the series you have been putting off. With school, there is no way to watch shows with all of the things on your to-do list. With that being said, watch them! Watching tv helps you get a break from your life and worries. I like to put myself in the character’s POV as well. It helps you really get into the show.

Makeover

Get your hair done, buy that new outfit, buy the new makeup you have wanted. Don’t empty your wallet but do you for a second. Buying yourself something every once in a while makes you feel better and who doesn’t love a new palette? So, do it! It will make you feel refreshed.

These are just a couple ways to adjust back to summer from classes and workload. You should definitely attempt these but also do the things you know for sure to help you relax! Remember your mental health is so important, don’t let it tank. You got this!
