What Holiday Sweet You Are Based on Your Zodiac Sign

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

The holidays are rapidly approaching, and whether you’re looking to bake a friend a sweet treat to match their personality, or you’re just wondering whether you’re more of a cookie or a cake, I’ve got you covered. A person’s zodiac sign can tell you a lot about who you are, and now it’ll tell you what sweet on that holiday spread you’re most like.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

The fiery boldness of an Aries cannot possibly be encapsulated better than by the warm spice of a steaming mug of apple cider. With a warm, sweet heat, and a kick of ginger and cinnamon, apple cider is just the perfect thing for all my Aries out there.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)

When I think of a Taurus, I think reliable, warmhearted and secure, and when the holidays roll around, there is no sweet treat more dependable than a hot chocolate. Warm, sweet and loved by many, just like my favorite Taurus’ I know I can always fall back on a mug of cocoa.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

To keep up with the ‘Holiday Beverage’ train, we’ve got yet another drink for this next sign. For the Gemini, the hot and cold, lively and quiet, loved and hated, we have: eggnog. No holiday staple is as polarizing as eggnog is, and for that reason, this drink fits the twin sign like no other.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

A Cancer is tough and protective, yet loving and emotional, and they are best represented by the classic sugar cookie. Iced or not, these cookies are fun and imaginative, hard and sometimes tough to get into, yet, without fail, soft and sweet on the inside. Sound familiar?

Leo (July 23 – Aug 22)

The Leo is comparable to the holiday treat that remains the influence behind 95% of all festive flavors. That’s right: the candy cane. With their creativity, enthusiasm and ability to take charge (and occasionally take over), the classic candy cane and Leo go hand-in-hand.

Virgo (Aug 23 – Sept 22)

If you’re a Virgo (or are lucky enough to have a friend that’s a Virgo) you’ll know that no phrase can describe one better than modest and shy. They’ve got tons of smarts and sensitivity, and yet they’re the last people to boast about anything. Which is why their holiday treat is the snickerdoodle. Snickerdoodles are a warm and practical cookie, with no crazy flavors or spices. This cookie is rarely ever talked about, but definitely deserves a little more love.

Libra (Sept 23 – Oct 22)

This next treat is another that not many people indulge in, but with a great balance of sweetness and tartness, as well as a look that’ll knock your socks off, Libra’s are represented by sugared cranberries. While, yes, not many people actually eat this and it’s more for decoration, they’re festive, aesthetically pleasing and romantic, and thus are perfect for all the love loving Libra’s out there.

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

A Scorpio is intuitive and exciting and, above all, passionate. For this reason, their holiday sweet is fudge. Whether it be a bright peppermint fudge, or a warm, spiced maple fudge, this treat is indulgent and perfect for the people with passion.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

With happiness and humor all throughout their personality, nothing screams Sagittarius quite like peppermint bark. This fresh, bright treat is straightforward and full of festive, holiday cheer, just like our joyous Sags.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Capricorns are nothing if not disciplined. Facing everything with patience and practicality, Capricorns are just like the holiday staple, pumpkin pie. This reliable treat is a classic, just like the Capricorn’s ambition and pride, it’s not going anywhere.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You can always count on an Aquarius to be absolutely themselves. They’re inventive and friendly, and, without a doubt, 100% original. Aquarius’ are easily comparable to, the one and only, figgy pudding. With what seems like an entire song based around this dish, figgy pudding is in a realm of its own. Again, I’m not entirely sure how many people actually make and eat this dish, but you can bet on the fact that this holiday dessert is unlike any other on the table.

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Finally, we have our compassionate, kind and caring Pisces. No candy, cake, or cookie could possibly sum up a Pisces better than gingerbread, or more specifically, gingerbread people. With friendly smiling faces, and sweet gumdrop buttons, these adorable cookies match the happy-go-lucky energy of our friendly Pisces’ like no other.
