Hofstra’s Annual Late Night Breakfast Always a Crowd Pleaser

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

There’s no greater sign of another semester under your belt at Hofstra than the Annual Late Night Breakfast. And with new items added to the menu along with a bumping sound system, this year’s once again failed to disappoint.

The breakfast is scheduled every Monday night of dreaded finals week at 10 pm. But c’mon collegiettes, we know better than that. As always, the line for the food began forming in the back of the Student Center eating area around 9:15 pm with pajama-clad students emerging from all corners of campus as if moths to a flame. The line soon wrapped all the way to the other side of the Student Center near Card Services.

Once let in, students were treated to french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage links. There were vegetarian options for anyone who wanted them as well as a bagel and pastry station. New items added to this semester’s line-up include whole fruit (although it was one per person) and hot chocolate.

Hofstra Division of Student Affairs staff members like Dean Peter Libman were on hand to pour syrup and say good luck on finals. Suspiciously missing from the festivities were Kate and Willy, who are usually on hand for pictures. They were instead replaced by someone a huge, white bunny suit. Do with that information what you will.

This event is always a crowd(ed) pleaser for students whose meal plans have long been exhausted as well as the studying and stress-ridden students who are just plain exhausted.

About an hour after the opening of late night breakfast, co-eds returned to their workstations and someone from the official Hofstra Twitter tweeted: “RT if you are reading this from Hammer Lab right now #finals”reminding us all to get back on our grind.

Good luck on finals, collegiettes.
