Fun Things To Do for a Spring Break Staycation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

It may be tempting to stay in bed all week and marathon Law and Order: SVU and Gilmore Girls, but this time should be fun so get out there and enjoy it!

1. See a Broadway show

In the springtime new shows open on Broadway. Some of the most anticipated openings of the spring are Gigi, An American In Paris, Finding Neverland, and The King & I. It can be a strain on your wallet to see a show, but with tix4student.com or the TodayTix app you can save a lot of money!

2. Get outdoors in NYC

Put the spring back in Spring Break! Take a trip on the Staten Island Ferry, visit the New York botanical garden, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, or visit the Highline. From farmer’s markets to nature walks to biking around Central Park, there are plenty of great things to do.

3. Hofstra’s Alternative Spring Break

Volunteer! It looks great on your resume and it’s always good to give back to the community. Check it out here

4. Get out of town

Go on a mini roadtrip with friends. Explore Long Island. Head down to Six Flags in New Jersey. Visit some tourist sites in New England. Everything is just a couple of hours away in the car.
