Are there actually people out there who have the time to wash their hair every day? If so, I certainly have never met one. Discovering dry shampoo was absolutely LIFE CHANGING and I don’t think I could survive college without it. I’ve tried quite a few brands over the last few years so I thought I would share my reviews with the world. In no particular order, here are all of the dry shampoos I have tried ranked out of 5 stars.

1. Bed Head Rockaholic

Ranking: 5/5

Comments: This has to be my favorite out of all of the various brands I have tried. It absorbs oil, makes hair appear less greasy, has a great scent, adds volume and does not leave any white streaks in dark hair.

Price: $21.99 for 6.3oz

2. Dove Beauty Refresh + Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo

Ranking: 3/5

Comments: This is a more college budget friendly option but it isn’t my favorite. It does absorb oil fairly well but does nothing to help with volume. For me personally, my hair starts getting flat after going a few days without a wash and this product doesn’t help much with that.

Price: $4.89 for 5 oz

3. Batiste

Ranking: 3.5/5

Comments: You get a lot of bang for your buck with Batiste but it does come with its cons. It leaves white streaks all over if you have darker hair. I have tried the “hint of color” version but that just dyed my fingertips brown. However, I do like that they have a variety of scents and it is budget friendly.

Price: $8.99 for 6.73 oz

4. Bed Head Oh Beehive!

Ranking: 4.5/5

Comments: This is another one of my personal favorites! The smell is absolutely amazing, it adds volume in addition to helping absorb oil. It is also a more budget-friendly option than the Bed Head Rockaholic.

Price: $10.44 for 5oz

5. Redken Dry Shampoo Powder

Ranking: 4/5

Comments: I was a bit skeptical about trying a power instead of a spray but I’m glad I did because it’s AMAZING! It is a bit messy to apply so I recommend throwing a towel around your shoulders but other than that I love it. It is super lightweight and doesn’t leave any white residue. The bottle is smaller than most but you can use a lot less than with an aerosol can.

Price: $20 for 2.1oz

6. Oribe Gold Lust

Ranking: 3/5

Comments: I got this in my FabFitFun box and thought it would be a great product because it’s higher end. However, I wasn’t too happy with the results. It left my hair looking flat and didn’t absorb as much oil as I would have liked. The only real advantage was that it didn’t leave white streaks.

Price: $46 for 6oz

7. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day

Ranking: 3/5

Comments: I like this dry shampoo but the smell is incredibly overwhelming and a bit too pricey for the results. It made my hair look clean but it still looked flat.

Price: $24 for 4oz

8. Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe

Ranking: 4/5

Comments: This is another budget-friendly option that works surprisingly well. It has a nice smell that isn’t too overwhelming, doesn’t leave any white residue and adds volume. It absorbs oil well but not as well as some of the others mentioned previously but it’s amazing for the price!

Price: $5.99 for 7oz

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the inventor of dry shampoo, we wouldn’t be able to survive college without it, collegiettes.
