Kat is very involved on campus. She is president of Her Campus Elon, a beauty and wellness writer for Edge Magazine, jr. philanthropy chair of her sorority, a communications fellow for College Fashionista, and an ambassador for Hinted.
Have you always been interested in writing?
Writing has always been one of Kat’s passions. After her dad passed away, she found that writing was a sense of relief and began journaling as a hobby. From there her passion has progressed into wanting to make more out of it.
What’s your dream job?
Kat says her dream job would be to write for an influential women’s magazine such as Glamour. She is a huge fan of all things fashion, wellness, and girl power!
How did you get interested in Her Campus?
Kat heard about Her Campus before attending Elon and wanted to learn more about the chapter here. Joining Her Campus would allow her to write, something she loved to do and make friends with similar interests.
Experience with Her Campus Elon:
Her Campus has been a great experience for Kat. She has been able to meet one of her best friends Brooke- and now VP.
What is it like being President of Her Campus Elon?
Kat loves her role as President at Her Campus Elon! A lot of her work goes into editing, contacting nationals, overseeing social media, and talking to Elon’s chapter advisor. When she has time, she too likes to write articles.
Why should others join Her Campus and how has being a member benefited you?
Kat feels she has benefited from the amazing community of girls in Elon’s chapter! Joining Her Campus has allowed Kat to do what she loves, to write! She has also been able to develop her career goals, as members are given the opportunity to link up with different brands and career advisors. In addition, Her Campus is a place where everyone’s ideas are welcomed and they can express their unique interests.
Meeting times and how to join:
If you love to write, new members are always welcomed! Her Campus does not necessarily have set meetings. Planning for articles is mostly done through social media. In the future, Her Campus is planning on making cute T’s for their members! To join email elon@hercampus.com.
