If your explore page on Instagram has looked anything like mine, everyone has been waiting for fall to really show off their fashion expertise. I can’t say I disagree, fall fashion is easily the best time of year for all things fashion involved. Whether it be work fashion or stunting in the classroom, I think everyone has a few pieces they hold just for fall. Our writers here at Drexel are no exception! We asked some of our writers to talk about their must-have pieces for fall (and of course show off how they wear it).

Mom jeans and I have a loooooong history of love and hate. I’ve always wanted to own a pair, but have felt as though I could never find the perfect fit for my body type. For the longest time, this left me admiring their beauty from afar, and absolutely hating them when they’ve gotten any closer. This FINALLY changed this past September, when I discovered American Eagle’s Stretch Curvy Mom Jean. I own at least 5 pairs now and wear them just about everyday. They’re genuinely so perfect for the autumn season, and I have no idea how I’ll ever go back to skinny jeans. My favorite look to put together is a lightweight sweater tucked into my mom jeans, a gold necklace with a heart pendant on my neck, a pearl circle belt and my favorite pair of Frye penny loafers.

My favorite piece at the moment is this aubergine shade faux leather jacket from Calvin Klein. I bought it several weeks ago and have been wearing it almost every day! Despite being purple, I think it goes well with anything. I am so glad I got this color instead of black! I also love this jacket because it sparks up any outfit very well – I can just wear jeans and a regular t-shirt under it but still feel super confident about my look.

I love a layered look. For the fall, my go-to is a sweatshirt, mom jeans, and a comfy jacket. Since mom jeans never fit my waist correctly, I have become accustomed to wearing belts as well. I am also trying to become a sneakerhead, so you can usually see me in my Air Force 1s. And if I really want to feel put together, I’ll throw on a necklace or two and some hoops.

I have been growing my hair out from a pixie cut for the past few months, so one trend I have not been able to live without is hair clips! So glad that the timing worked out that clips have come back just in time to save me from my awkward bangs.

I have been obsessing over trench coats this Fall. I just purchased this one here, and I love it. To me trench coats can be worn either in a business casual style or in a more dressed up way. Especially a night out with friends, this is super cute to just throw on top of your outfit. It’s a very simple item of clothing but truly can pull the entire look together!
