6 Summer Nail Polish Colors for 2016
Summer is finally here and we’ve all stopped biting our nails over finals and grades, so it’s time to give the chipped fingers a nice new manicure! But, what color do you choose? Deep berries and pretty pastels are a thing of previous seasons, but fear not, we’ve rounded up the best options for summer nail colors.
1. Coral
What’s more festive than matching your nails to the coral reefs found under the sea? Give your nails a vibrant, tropical look with this pinkish orange hue! Many brands offer variations of this seasonal polish, but Kylie Jenner’s new line, Sinful Colors, just recently hit the shelves of stores like Walmart and there’s a shade called Island Coral. And for just $2, the price can’t be beat.
2. Sea Foam Green
You can’t go wrong with nails that are the color of the sea! This blue-green shade is sure to catch people’s eyes. The brand, China Glaze, which can be found in stores and online at retailers such as Ulta Beauty, has a version of sea foam green called Too Yacht to Handle priced at $7.50.
3. Nude
Reminiscent of sandy beaches, nude never goes out of style. Not only is it trendy, but it also goes with everything so no need to worry that your nails clash with your outfit. You can pick up OPI’s Samoan Sand at Walmart for $6!
4. White
Who says white is a winter color? We think this snowy shade is white hot! Like nude, white is a neutral color that goes with anything and the bright white will accentuate your sun-kissed skin. Nicole by OPI, sold at Ulta Beauty, offers a hue with a name that we love, Yoga then Yogurt, for just $6.99!
5. Lavender
Summer makes us think about flowers in full bloom, which is why lavender is on the list of the best summer nail colors! What’s more is that this purple color comes in many different hues. We especially love this shimmery polish from Zoya called Zara ($7.99) – it’s got a hint of gold that’ll catch the light from the summer sun.
6. Teal
Blues and greens are summer staples and teal is a good combination of both. It’s similar to sea foam and also reminds us of the ocean, but it’s a little bit darker in color than its blue-green counterpart. Essie’s Garden Variety ($8.50) is a great teal polish by a brand that we know and love.
