Campus Cutie: Vance Graves ’19

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

Name: Vance Alan Graves

Class: 2019

Hometown: Concord, North Carolina (which is about 35 minutes away from Davidson.)

Why did you decide to stay so close to home for college?: Well, my niece was just born so I want to stay close to spend time with her and my family in general. My mom has MS so if she ever needs me I want to be close to her.

Relationship status: SINGLE AS HECK.

Would you like that to change?: HECK YEAAAAAH.

Intended major: Psychology

Intended minor: Theater or Gender and Sexuality Studies

Activities: STRIDE, Dance Ensemble, and showcase concert committee.

Zodiac sign: Gemini

Favorite color: Green

Dream job: Ooooh I don’t know that yet but if I could combine theatre and psychogy in some way that would be awesome.

How long have you been doing theatre?: Since 7th grade!

What’s your favorite production that you’ve been in and why?: I’d say Hairspray because I played Seaweed and it was really fun to be him. There was another show called Veldt where I got to be an evil character and I enjoyed that.

So you aren’t evil in real life?: No, I’m not evil in real life even though I’m a Gemini.

What’s your favorite song right now?: I’ve been listening to either “Hotline Blink” by Drake or “Soap” by Melanie Martinez. “Soap” (the song) kinda sounds like bubbles. Give it a listen.

*He proceeded to play it. It did sound like bubbles*

Theatre production that he would sometime like to be in: Into the Woods. I’d be open to playing a lot of characters but being Jack would be cool.

I asked him for a fun fact and he said that he was smaller than a Beanie Baby when he was born! How fitting–as adorable as a Beanie Baby.
