On Jeffree Star, Kaitlin Bennett, and Tekashi 6ix9ine

There are some people that have a massive platform and following that really, in my opinion, just shouldn’t. Some people recognize this and choose to keep interacting with these people to scold them or “troll them,” but really that’s not going to fix anything, as it just fuels their social media engagement and doesn’t make them any less relevant. Here are some people that I think we should strive to NOT interact with at all, so their relevance dissipates and their platform is completely removed.

Jeffree Star

Seriously, how does Jeffree Star still have such a large and devoted following? Back when he had a smaller audience, Jeffree Star was pretty much openly racist and made discriminatory comments to people. He can be seen in this video calling someone a “poor Mexican,” the n-word, and just overall acting like a racist jerk: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5x2p5b...and this is just what is caught on video and in a 40-second clip. Imagine how much isn’t caught on video.

If that isn’t enough for you to question why you even like Jeffree Star, he also tried to launch a brand called “Lipstick Nazi” that can be found in internet archives. Here is one of the photos from the brand campaign: https://web.archive.org/web/20050130021902/http://www.lipsticknazi.com:80/. Here’s another link to what the website used to have on it: https://web.archive.org/web/20041126144640/http://www.lipsticknazi.com:80/ defining Jeffree Star as the “lipstick nazi,” and the “immaculate queen of cosmetics.” Not enough for you? He used a picture that glorifies self-harm to promote his brand. It can be seen here (warning: self-harm): https://puu.sh/F933z/f060b650cb.png. I don’t know about you, but someone who is filmed calling people racist slurs trying to create a brand called “Lipstick Nazi” just doesn’t sit right with me.

Last but not least, we can’t forget Jeffree Star’s collaboration with the band Blood on the Dance Floor. Yeah, he publicly called out Dahvie Vanity (singer for Blood on the Dance Floor) for having inappropriate relationships with minors, but I’d think that someone who calls out someone for being a “child molester” wouldn’t go on tour with them two years later. Kaitlin Bennett

Let’s just get to the point here, Kaitlin Bennett seeks attention through shock and poking at what she knows people are passionate about defending. She frequently says things just to dig at “liberals” or, you know, people who don’t treat others like shit. Including her racist tweets towards Latinx people, (https://twitter.com/KaitMarieox/status/1264204127195803651, https://twitter.com/KaitMarieox/status/1264023454581436416) she frequently comments snarky remarks on social media to try to invoke a reaction from people.

There are many, many videos of this girl trying to get a rise out of people using racist, homophobic, anti-feminist (and so on) remarks to harrass people, and this video showcases some of these instances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFELMB4uzDc. Arguably the worst part being when she shoves a microphone in a small child’s face and tries to talk to them about abortion.

Tekashi 6ix9ine

There are videos of this guy with 2 other men (one, Taquan Anderson, that was convicted of possessing a sexual performance by a child) molesting a 13-year-old girl. As a result of this trial, Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced to one year of interim probation, among other requirements that include “not to post/re-post sexually explicit or violent images featuring women/children to social media,” and 300 hours of community service. The instance is described in court documents, and somehow people still support him and give him a following. Just to let you know, if you support Tekashi 6ix9ine, you are supporting a child molester. There are other things this guy has done that aren’t support-worthy, but this is enough for me. Stop giving pedophiles a platform. If you want to support these people after all the things you just read, that’s your choice and on your conscience. Just know what you’re supporting. If you don’t support these people and this type of behavior, the answer is to let them disappear. It’s time to take away the platforms of hateful and gross people.
