Name: Danielle Clark

Age: 18

Major/minor: Journalism Major, Social Media Minor

Year: Freshman

How would you describe your blog/what is your blog about?:

– My blog is a food and lifestyle blog dedicated to creating healthy, easy recipes using real ingredients. You don’t need elixirs or $30 potions to make a healthy dish that tastes good, keeps you full, and fuels you.

What inspired you start your blog?

– I was a competitive figure skater for 12 years, so when I stopped, I knew I needed to start eating healthier and better. I got really bored one day and just made the Instagram (@tennishealthfitness) and the blog followed right after!

What’s your fav recipe at the moment?

– Oh god that’s hard haha, but I’m loving my almond butter power muffins for an easy snack and my orange “chicken” tempeh bowls for a plant based alternative. I make the muffins weekly and am sllooowwwwlllyyy trying to get my roommates and friends to try the tempeh recipe haha

You have thousands of followers on a very active IG, run a website and go to school full time- how do you manage it all?

– Hm, couldn’t tell ya haha. In all honesty, my planner is a life saver and I write everything down – from “clean room” to “study for exam”, it all goes down. I have a morning routine dedicated to purely blog and Instagram stuff, like creating content, answering emails, taking conference calls, etc, so that by the time I go to my first class I’ve gotten a bunch of that done. It helps that I’m a morning person and love working out in the morning, so I don’t mind waking up a little earlier. Oh, and coffee – coffee is a must.

If you had to eat something for the rest of your life what would it be?

– I’ve always said my *last* meal will be a warm loaf of French bread with a good olive oil dipping, but if we’re talking health food, I think peanut butter and sweet potatoes!

How do you see your blog/brand in the future?

– I wish I could say, but considering two years ago this was all a simple hobby, I have no idea! I’m working for a food brand this summer as their social media content creator, so I’m hoping to take some sort of career in food blogging and social media. What I’d love is for my brand to be full time after college (it already is a very full time job if we’re being honest), but who knows!

Any advice for people who are curious or just starting to get into health and fitness?

– Just start! There’s never a bad time to start working out, eating better, and improving your overall health. The most important thing throughout is to make sure your mental health is intact, because that should always be a priority. Don’t be intimidated at the gym if you want to start lifting- we all start somewhere and you’re a b***ss for doing it!

Any advice for college girls on the go that want an easy and healthy meal/snack?

– I’m biased because I lived in Athens North, which are the freshman apartment dorms below Sewell, so I was lucky to have a kitchen and not need to rely on the meal plan as much. The best easy meals are things like overnight oats, peanut butter and banana toast, rice, veggies, and beans, and anything that you can store in your tiny fridge, grab, and go! My favorite snacks are: RXBARS (all the markets besides the UMC sell them!), Perfect Bars (the Starbucks at the UMC sells them!), popcorn (look at the ingredients), and homemade muffins and bars.

Fave cheat day meal?

– If you know me, you know I eat Boss Lady Pizza AT LEAST once a week. Can’t get enough

Fun fact about yourself!

– I’m a twin!
