Three Must Try Places in NYC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

Living in New York City for the last month on co-op has been filled with struggles, triumphs and delicious food. It doesn’t help that I live on a street filled with all the restaurants I could dream of but here are the top three places I suggest if anyone ever makes it to New York!

1.     Kith

The concept alone of this place is awesome, a sneaker store + cereal bar= gold mine. The hip place to get breakfast is located on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn. When you enter it seems like just a sneaker boutique put if you maneuver around that a bit you will find the treat section. In the treat section one can choose from twenty-three different cereal types as well as a variety of milk including almond and hemp. Once the cereal is chosen next comes the toppings, which range from brownies to Kit Kats. If one is in more of an ice cream mood don’t fret cereal blended soft serve is also available.

2.     The Cafeteria

Don’t worry this is nothing like middle school cafeteria food. I know when I heard the name I dreaded it a bit, I avoided cafeteria food all through my grade school years but this is completely different. It’s like gourmet adult cafeteria food serving delicious items that one dreamed their school would serve back in the day. The deliciousness includes fried Oreos, mac and cheese spring rolls and truffle fries! Located in Chelsea on 7th Avenue.

3.     Black Tap

While the Black Tap, located in the Meatpacking district and Soho, serves food (which I hear is equally as amazing) I am all about their monstrous milkshakes. For $15 this beauty could be yours and three of your closest friends (it is really that massive). Black Tap offers specialty handcrafted milkshakes like this as well as seasonal flavors and combos, such as cotton candy, cookie craze, and sweet and salty. This is must try just don’t let the line discourage you!
