I Tried Cycling for the First Time and Fell in Love

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

Recently, I have had a new obsession with cycling classes. I was able to have this opportunity through my campus recreation center. Every day they have multiple classes and I love every one of them. I have now become obsessed with cycling!! I am very active in my daily life on top of cycling to start out with. I make time every day to help my body stay healthy.

When I first decided to try this class offered, I was so nervous. Walking into the room alone, my heart was beating quickly. I have no idea why I was nervous because I always workout it was just trying something new. Little did I know that I would become addicted to cycling! The workout is fast paced which really helped me not get bored. I personally am not the biggest fan of cardio exercise but cycling feels different than running in my opinion. You will sweat a LOT but that does not mean you should give up on your goals.

When you show up to these types of classes it is for a few reasons!

You want to reach your goals.

You want to have the body you dream about.

You want to feel good about yourself.

Going on with my class experience … the coach was extremely supportive and upbeat which made it fun! She pushed you hard but not to ones breaking point which is important. The workout was to the beat of the music blasting. There are exercises on the bike that I would have never known about if I was not in this class. The whole atmosphere was really into the workout.

Cycling is hard but extremely rewarding! You should check it out for sure before graduating!!

Things to bring to a cycling class:

· Towel to wipe sweat

· Water bottle

· Tennis shoes

· Recommend wearing a tank top

· Determined mindset to reach your goals!!
