How to Have a Happy Girl Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

The new autumn equinox was August 27th, also known as the day pumpkin spice lattes returned and I started lighting my fall candles again!

Trying to refrain from showing my obnoxious love for the season has already failed despite the sweltering heat we’re stuck in.

The way I see it, since we only really get about two months of peak fall, I’m taking in as much of it as I can! The best way to give yourself a happy girl fall is to partake in every aspect of the season and appreciating that certain things are basic for a good reason (who doesn’t love a good pumpkin spice latte?)

Here is a list of some fall worthy staples you should definitely get out and do this autumn!

Activities for you and your friends:

  • Pumpkin carving (bonus points if you pick your own pumpkin)

  • Hayrides

  • Candle shopping (hit up bath and body works for the best scents!)

  • Farmers markets

  • Haunted houses

  • Corn mazes

  • Baking spooktacular treats

Television and movies to enjoy:

  • Gilmore Girls

  • Dead Poets Society

  • Fantastic Mr. Fox

  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

  • Halloweentown (and any other Disney channel movie about halloween!)

Tastes and treats:

  • Pumpkin spice latte (the QUEEN of fall foods and drinks)

  • Caramel apple bars

  • Apple cider doughnuts

  • Cornbread

  • Pumpkin Pie

  • Baked mac n’ cheese

Candles:

  • Cinnamon pumpkin

  • Apple cinnamon cider

  • Hot cocoa and cream

  • Pumpkin pecan waffles

Any combo of these activities is guaranteed to help you have the best happy girl fall you can!
