This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Before the Civil War when fugitive slaves ran to find freedom, it was often found by crossing the Ohio River into Cincinnati.  In 2004, the museum was built to document the history of the Underground Railroad and to honor all the people who were forced into slavery. The museum takes you through three main exhibits – From Slavery to Freedom, Invisible: Slavery Today, and Brothers of the Borderland.  Right now, the museum is featuring the exhibit Kin Killin’ Kin: The Art of James Pate.
