Campus Celeb: Vincenzo Volpe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Case chapter.

Sitting in Starbucks, Vincenzo stops periodically to say hello to some people he knows passing by, taking the time to ask them about things going in their lives, congratulating them on their recent achievements. He is genuinely kind, passionate about the things he is involved in, and cheers up everyone around him.

Name: Vincenzo Volpe

Major: Music Performance (Pre-Health for Music Therapy)

Year: Junior

Hometown: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Involvement on campus: Founding Father of Delta Sigma Phi, Lambda Eta Mu, Newman Catholic Campus Ministry, Works for the LGBT center

Favorite color: Blue (royal blue specifically)

Her Campus: Talk about one of things you’re involved in and what it means to you.Vincenzo Volpe: My fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi, is what I take the most pride being involved in on campus. It’s an amazing group of guys from all different backgrounds, places, and academic interests who all have the same vision regarding what it means to be a better man. I love them like a family, and it puts a huge smile on my face whenever I see any of them on campus.

HC: What is your favorite thing about CWRU?

VV: The fact that our campus is like 10 miles long. I get such a workout biking from Northside to the quad everyday (especially in the snow).

HC: I know you studied abroad last semester. What was your favorite thing about Denmark?

VV: The public transportation system. The Metro is driverless and runs 24/7, so you can go clubbing in the city at 11pm and leave at 4 in the morning and know that you have a ride.

HC: If you could be famous for anything, what would you be famous for?

VV: I would be a virtuosic, classical flute player for the Cleveland Orchestra who never ever misses a note and makes audiences cry tears of joy during every performance.

HC: If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

VV: I would move to Venice, Italy simply because out of all the cities I’ve visited in the world thus far, Venice is the most charming and exotic place on Earth. I’ve never seen so many restuarants in one place where the pizza is just as authentic as the wine. It totally resonates with my Italian heritage.

HC: What’s something that never fails to cheer you up?VV: Videos of Amy Schumer or Ellen Degeneres. I’ll go on Youtube and binge watch each of them and cry my eyes out laughing.

HC: If you had a super-power, what would it be?

VV: I would want the ability to fly at supersonic speeds, because there are so many times I wish I wasn’t in Ohio and could just get the heck back to Europe.

HC: Who are your role models?VV: Bernie Sanders, Yo-Yo Ma, and Beyoncé

Somewhere between Tina Belcher and Regina George. I love spending time with my friends, sisters, and puppies. I write for Case Western's Newspaper The Observer, Event Plan for my sorority, and walk doggies at the Animal Protective League.
