Another semester is coming to an end and with it, the end of our current classes. It brings with it the goodbye to our professors, and the need for a proper thank you. Thank you for everything you do for all students. Thank you for showing up to work every day to make an impact, to share your knowledge, and to guide us to where we want to be in life. Where would we be without you?

I want to say thank you for everything, and goodbye for now to quality education and engaged and passionate teachers. I know you have probably heard before, how lucky we are to be able to go to school when so many others are not. Maybe we hear this so much because we truly are lucky. According to UNESCO, there are 263 million kids out of school in the world today. These are kids left with few opportunities to succeed, and no possibilities to help shape the world into the world we want to see.

Not only do our professors open doors to a profession and a stable source of income for us, they also give us skills to succeed in other aspects of life. This is why I love my school and my professors so much. They will give you all the advice you need if you talk to them. This semester, I have had teachers help me with everything from advice on what to pack for a weekend trip to Chicago, how to pay taxes, and the best places to eat in LA. Everyone deserve teachers like these, who dedicate their lives to changing the lives of others.

In some weird way, these professors have been like parents to me, especially because I recently moved here from Norway, knowing no one when I came here. It has been so nice to know that even though I am far away from home, I have people I can go to for advice. People who want me to succeed and who want to help make me the best me I can possibly be. Professors telling stories to make you laugh, to make you learn, or to motivate you. For that, I say thank you so much.

Teachers are in my opinion carrying out the most important jobs, as they are the ones providing us with a future. They are shaping and developing the future engineers, nurses, scientists, firefighters, technicians, lawyers, dentists, psychologists, and electricians. They are providing us with the tools we need to shape a new and successful generation, giving us everything we need to be able to inherit the world. Without dedicated professors, there would be no future worth looking forward to for the younger generation.

So, I want to say goodbye, and I am also fortunate enough to be able to say see you again soon. Thank you for providing me with everything I need to take on the world, and thank you for giving me the possibility to make my own contribution. You inspire, and you are laying the foundation for everything else that happens in the word. You are doing such a great job, and you are changing so many lives. Thank you for everything you did for me this semester, and goodbye for now.
