This alone makes the holiday amazing. Heart-shaped pizza, heart-shaped donuts, random things dyed pink just so suckers like me will be tricked into buying it, I LOVE IT. Sometimes I’ll even buy a product just for the V-day packaging; I’m that susceptible to marketing.
The best are Dunkin’s heart-shaped donuts and Papa John’s heart-shaped pizza.
- Galentine’s Day

Popularized by the greatest TV show ever made, Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is on February 13th and is all about celebrating friendship with your “gal pals”. This is always such a fun day that alleviates any bad feelings one might have about being single on Valentine’s Day. It’s also an excuse to pig out on candy and spam Instagram with pictures of your pretty friends.

Whether you watch romantic comedies to make fun of them or to live vicariously through the main character, they’re definitely a Valentine’s Day staple. Even the bad ones are just oh so fun to watch.
I highly recommend 13 Going on 30, The Proposal, and Clueless.

Arguably, the best part of the holiday is the giant sales on candy the day after. Go out and buy some, you deserve it!
You don’t need anyone but yourself (and maybe some Taylor Swift) to have a great Valentine’s Day, so don’t beat yourself up over not having a special someone — they’re overrated, anyway.
