I am a very unenthusiastic person. I could win the lottery and be like “oh cool” then like smile a little bit. However, there is one time of year when I can’t help but be a jolly person. I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Every year on Halloween I am not thinking about ghosts or my costume. I am focused on the next day that marks the start of the best time of the year aka Christmas.

I decorate every year on November 1 and, no, that is not too early. If something makes someone happy… just shut up okay, it’s not weird (it’s a lil weird). So decided to try to reasonably justify at least five reasons as to why this obsession is okay.

  1. Time Management

Yes, I am a very busy lady in December sometimes. This might cut down on my ability to watch some awesome holiday movies, so I just get a head start. Time management is the key everyone just do it.

2. Glitter Eyeshadow

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that glitter eyeshadow is the core of Christmas. Yes, move over baby Jesus (JUST KIDDING don’t attack me). No, but seriously, it is a time of year where overly glittered eyes are not only encouraged, but aggressively advertised by Sephora. I don’t know about you, but I am completely fine with that.

3. Christmas Trees

Tell me right now that you didn’t just have a slow-motion montage of a gorgeous Christmas tree in your head. Christmas trees are like puppies: they just make everything better. If I could have a Christmas tree all year I would. I walked by a Christmas tree in a store window this weekend and it took all my willpower not to ask the owner if I could lay under it for a minute.

4. CHRISTMAS COOKIES

‘Nuff said.

5. Christmas Music

Nothing puts me in a better mood than trying to scream-sing the last note in Mariah Carey’s masterpiece “All I want for Christmas is You”. Sometimes, I just need a holiday tune to brighten my day. There is nothing better than dancing horribly to a Christmas bop in some fun holiday pj’s.

Maybe Thanksgiving does deserve its own special time, but let’s stop denying ourselves the joy of celebrating Christmas in November. I love and appreciate all that Turkey Day has to offer, but what’s wrong with some holiday lights to go along with it? So with that in mind, I would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas full of cookies, family time and glitter eyeshadow.
