If you’re looking for fresh squeezed juice, organic/vegan food options, and incredible instagram worthy food pictures; this is your place. With the location being right on Elmwood avenue in Buffalo, the atmosphere is very welcoming and upbeat. My personal favorite part about Ashker’s is the changing sides that they have depending on the season.
- The Chocolate Bar
Location: 114 W Chippewa St, Buffalo, NY 14202
On your period and craving as much chocolate you can fit into your mouth? Indulge in your cravings here. They have a delicious dinner menu but the dessert is what brings you death by chocolate. For those of you not above the age of 21 they have adorable chocolate mock-tails and an endless dessert menu filled with crepes, layered chocolate cake, and several creme brulee options.
3. SATO
Location: 739 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14222
This is my personal favorite restaurant on Elmwood. If you’re sick of eating $1 packaged ramen and have some cash to spare, this is the place for you. Their Ramen is beautifully served, addicting, and filled with flavor. At this location they also carry sushi, which is equally as dream-worthy as the ramen. The fish is fresh and precisely placed like art on the dish. My overall rating would have to be a 1,000/10.
4. Chef’s
Location: 291 Seneca St, Buffalo, NY 14204
If you’re looking for “homey” Italian with a mouthwatering red sauce, this should be your go-to restaurant. They have every Italian classic you can think of with sides like mouthwatering cheesy bread or fresh calamari. The prices are very reasonable with the huge portions you receive so definitely be prepared to take a “doggy bag” home with you!
5. The Bar Bill Tavern
Location: 185 Main St, East Aurora, NY 14052
I had to add this onto the list because it would most definitely be disrespecting my home-town if I didn’t. Although this is not directly near UB, it is worth the 25 minute drive to East Aurora. The wings are award winning and (in my and everyone else from East Aurora’s opinion) better than Duff’s or Anchor Bar. They also offer a delectable buffalo-classic, Beef on Weck sandwich. If you’re looking for some artsy instagram pictures visit the backside of the Bar Bill building to see their lovely Bar Bill take out mural, I definitely have modeled in front of the wall!
