The Daughters of Eve

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Barnard chapter.

The daughters of Eve

poked, contained, blamed, teased and worshipped.

Tender breast buds rising like mother-skin,

united by moon travel and life-flow hidden between

legs, that learn to carry life and know when to run.

Banded together, armed with femininity.

An alliance of sisterhood, of motherhood

the power of all the times women have stood together.

There is no stopping them, no more suppressing them.

The descendants from the first strong woman-child,

the daughters of Eve

arrive.
