HC Wake-Up Call: Trump Insults Robert De Niro, Dancing FBI Agent With A Gun Arrested, & Primary Results In 5 States

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Primary Results In Five States

Virginia, South Carolina, Maine, Nevada and North Dakota all held primary elections on Tuesday. Though a number of races were still being tallied around midnight, some candidates were able to declare victory before the night's end.

In Virginia, Corey Stewart won the Republican Senate nomination. He's a controversial candidate who's garnered criticism for a number of things — like attending a news conference with the leader of the white supremacist protest that Heather Heyer was later killed at — from both Democrats and Republicans. He'll take on Tim Kaine in November.

In South Carolina, Republican Mark Sanford lost his first election ever. Hours before the polls closed, President Trump tweeted his support for Sanford's opponent, Rep. Katie Arrington. She'll face Joe Cunningham, who won the Democratic nomination on Tuesday — although according to CBS News, their district hasn't elected a Democrat since 1978.

The Dem party did, however, manage to flip their 43rd seat since Trump took office. Caleb Frostman won a special election in a Wisconsin district that Trump himself had actually won by 17 points

More primary results will be available throughout Wednesday.

Trump Responded To Robert De Niro's Tony Awards Diss

ICYMI, Robert De Niro does not like Trump. On Sunday's Tony Awards, when he took the stage to introduce a performance by Bruce Springsteen, De Niro blatantly said, "F—k Trump," not only once, but twice.

Trump responded on his flight back from Singapore on Tuesday.

De Niro had issued an apology on Monday, though it actually wasn't meant for Trump. Instead, he said sorry to Canadians for Trump's "idiotic behavior."

The Dancing FBI Agent Who Went Viral After Accidentally Shooting Someone Was Arrested

A video recently made the rounds on social media showing a man — who turned out to be an FBI agent — dancing in a Denver bar, and upon landing a back-flip, accidentally firing his gun. The gun ended up shooting someone in the lower leg, though police said they're expected to survive.

As for the FBI agent, identified as 29-year-old Chase Bishop, he turned himself in to Colorado police on Tuesday. Bishop is currently being held on pending charges of second degree assault, CNN reported. Many were questioning why he wasn't arrested in the first place, and the District Attorney's Office and Denver FBI have yet to comment on the incident.
