The 12 Best 4th of July-Themed Recipes

Happy Independence Day, collegiettes! Here’s to celebrating the independence of America, land of the free and home of the crazy food concoctions. And as Americans, we refuse to settle for eating a boring hot dog or potato salad at our 4th of July festivities every year. Here are a few recipes that demonstrate just how great (and tasty!) it is to be an American:

1) Flag Fruit Pizza

We’d like to order a large with extra bananas, please.

2) Red, White, and Blueberry Trifle

Just a trifle incredible looking.

3) Firecracker Bundt Cake

Forget pyrotechnics; we’d rather stare at this cake all night.

4) Red, White, and Blue Pancakes

Breakfast of (American) champions.

5) Red, White, and Blue Summer Salad

Have you ever seen a salad so beautiful?

6) Patriotic Taco Salad

We stand corrected.

7) Firecracker Ice Pops

A small step above those Popsicle Firecrackers we used to get from the ice cream truck.

8) Patriotic Strawberries

We’ve never been prouder to be Americans.

9) 4th of July Toast

And you thought toast was boring.

10) Patriotic Pie

Just when we thought pie couldn’t get any more American.

11) She’s a Grand Old Lasagna

And crown thy good with lots of cheese.

12) Red, White and Blue Cheesecake Bars

Patriotic and low-fat? God bless the U.S.A.
