17 Signs You Go to School in Boston

With so many different colleges in one city, it’s no wonder that Boston has become the place to be for young professionals. While each university is unique, there are some traditions that all students in Boston share. Here are 17 experiences that anyone who goes to school in Boston will know all too well.

1. When you tell anyone where you go to school, the first thing they ask about is the winter

“How do you deal with all that snow?” I just do, ok?

2. Even if you used to drink Starbucks, you’re a Dunkin’ addict now

America really does run on Dunkin’.

3. You have a strong opinion on which bakery has the best cannoli

Bova’s? Mike’s? Modern?

4. Tourists have become the bane of your existence

Duck tours. Duck tours everywhere.

5. You have a love/hate relationship with the Green Line (and the MBTA in general)

It’s mostly hate.

6. You’ve been to at least one game at Fenway, even if you’re not into sports

It’s practically a rite of passage.

7. You celebrated the Red Sox win in 2013

As well as the Patriots win in 2015.

8. St. Patrick’s Day is a big deal

But you might not remember it.

9. You know that the Public Garden is the place to take that perfect Insta

It’s gorgeous in every season.

10. You save dinner in the North End for Parents’ Weekend

You are on a college student’s budget, after all.

11. The Esplanade is your playground (literally)

As well as the best place to watch the sun set.

12. You’ve chosen a side in the Boloco vs. Chipotle debate

Because burritos are serious business.

13. You’ve been to at least one sketchy Allston party

And one was probably enough.

14. You’re used to living in an eternal winter

But that doesn’t make walking to an 8 AM class in January any easier.

15. You get mad when people refer to the ‘Boston Commons’

It’s the Common. No ‘s’.

16. You’ve gone to Boston Calling

Or you just listened to the music from right outside Government Center.

17. You will always be Boston Strong

No matter what.

We love you, Boston.
