Internship Objective

This purpose of this Internship is to provide students of marketing with experience in a business environment that specializes in marketing, to assist with future career development by way of exploring interests and developing profession skills and competencies.

An internship at Bondi Sands offers students an opportunity to be a part of a global company and a brand that is in a growth stage, in addition to gaining exposure to a plethora of marketing platforms from digital, retail, eCommerce, trade, social media and public relations.

Key Requirements

Experience

  • Ideally 2+ years work experience in customer service and/or office
  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment and the ability to work autonomously with use of initiative and as part of a team

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Marketing Student – 3rd or 4th Year Level
  • Tertiary level understanding of marketing principles, including digital & social media
  • Strong awareness of social media platforms, including Facebook/Instagram and YouTube

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication; both oral and written
  • Team player with optimistic attitude and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong Computer Skills and use of MS Office
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • High levels of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be flexible and nimble

Internship Exposure

  • Exposure to working with international head office
  • Exposure to both PR and Event responsibilities
  • Product pack sends / creative mailer management with PR and key stakeholders
  • Liaising with Design department in Australia for brand collateral
  • Contribute to NPD strategy by managing new line samples, coordinating focus groups and liaising with suppliers as requested by management
  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues
  • Manage communications with warehouse where required
  • Proof-reading and editing presentations and marketing collateral
  • Assist in monitoring and engaging on social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube)
  • Maintain digital and social editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging
  • Monitor and evaluate statistics for each digital marketing campaign using such tools as Google Analytics and provide updates on promotional activity
  • Identify new brand influencers and assist with product seeding program
  • Research and identify new digital and social opportunities for brand awareness and conversion
  • Ensure all social and digital touchpoints are up to date and consistent
  • Liaise with E-commerce manager to resolve any website issues
  • Develop online review and referral programs
  • Review and report findings and recommendations on all Bondi Sands digital platforms including all websites and social channels
  • Assist with copywriting, proofing, and updating all digital and social content
  • Establish and populate monthly reports to assist business monitoring and planning
  • General office administration tasks and ad hoc requests from team
  • High level professional Customer Service delivery

  • Communicate effectively with team on a regular basis ensuring information is clear, accurate and timely
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to and that established procedures are adhered to and monitored
  • Work effectively with team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority to accomplish organisational goals

  • Take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others

Education/Compliance

  • Undertake Professional Development activities as outlined in the internship plan
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant Acts, legal requirements and ethical standards
  • Ensure compliance and promotes adherence to the Bondi Sands culture, values, policies and standards
  • Ensure personal adherence to workplace health and safety requirements and either addresses or brings to management’s attention when others are in breach of these requirements.
