Ahhh, November. The month where the weather is chilly, the leaves are fully orange, and we’re not much farther from the holidays. Not only that, but there’s nothing better than staying inside on a cold day, wrapped up in a blanket, and binge-watching Netflix because, who doesn’t want that?
That being said, here’s what’s coming to Netflix this November:
1. Julie & Julia – November 1
A movie starring Amy Adams, Meryl Streep, and Chris Messina? Count me in! This charming film revolves around New Yorker Julie Powell (Amy Adams) who embarks on a daring project, vowing to prepare all 524 recipes in Julia Childs’ landmark cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Intertwined with Julie’s story is the true tale of how Julia Child (Meryl Streep) herself conquered French cuisine with passion, fearlessness, and plenty of butter.
Fun fact: it wasn’t until I had finished watching The Mindy Project and re-watched Julie & Julia that I realized Chris Messina was in this movie.
2. The Great British Baking Show (Collection 6) – November 9
This favorite from the great land of England is coming to your screen this November! Collection 6 of GBBS (which is technically season 9 in the UK) will feature another round of wholesome, polite, British competition with mouthwatering sweet and savory baked goods we all want to try. It’s a must-watch if you want to regain hope in humanity.
3. Sex and the City: the Movie – November 1
In this chick flick classic, four years after the earlier adventures of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her best friends, she and Big (Chris Noth) are in a committed relationship. Samantha (Kim Cattrall), after surviving cancer, is in a monogamous relationship with Smith Jerrod, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and her husband live on Park Avenue, and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), now in Brooklyn, begins to feel the pressure of family life.
